Sorry if i posted this in the wrong section, but i figured who better to know where to find something then the leaders.
I'm trying find where in scripture it talks about living in Sin. I'm looking at a possible female roommate and want to make sure that I'm within the guidelines of scripture before I proceed.

I'm hardly a 'leader', but one verse that comes to mind is one that a ministry leader referred in college when discussing living arrangements (opposite sex)...
I Thes 5 22... refrain from any appearance of evil...

Romans 6: 12-14
12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

Just as an FYI: I'm not a paid church staff person, but I have been a lay leader at my church. (I'm not an expert by any means. But I do enjoy digging into Scripture!)
I would do word searches in an online Bible searching tool (like www.biblegateway.com) for terms like these:
wise
wisdom
fool
foolish
hasty
cautious
temptation
tempting
tempted
I'm not sure you would find an obvious biblical prohibition against having a female roommate. But you'll find a lot of verses about wisdom and foolishness and about fleeing/avoiding temptation.
Weigh your decision on what would be wise -- both for you and the potential roommate... and also for the body of Christ.

An additional place I would look would be Romans 14. It is about things we do that are not right or wrong but could cause others to stumble. Paul says, "Therefore, do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil. . ." (Romans 14:16).
You are certainly placing yourself in temptation's path by cohabitating with females. But that does not make it wrong. The concern is for the weaker brother being caused to stumble by what they see you doing. (The concern is NOT for the self righteous one who wants to judge what you are doing BTW.)

Thank you all very much for your reply's. Your advice is appreciated.
Myself and the woman are both heavily involved in Ministry. The main reason this came up is becuase i live in a large ministry building with a lot of extra space and she won't have a place to go in the near future. I would be concerned as far as what example it set for people who come through needing counseling or prayer.

That's a very different situation than the one I was thinking of. The situation you have described would definitely involve those 'weaker in the faith' and a cause for stumbling should be avoided. Romans 14 is a definite read/application for your situation. Bless ya!
