Hey, everyone. I noticed that some of the bigger threads have been closed because they have gotten too large. These large threads tend to slow the server down so they have to be closed.

So would you like to see the same threads continued? Maybe combine some of the threads? I was thinking we could combine the chat thread with the "I feel" thread and maybe a few others... what do you think?

I'd definitely like to see the "I Feel" thread and the "So What are You Doing. . ." thread back. And the prayer request thread too. Not sure about the best way to combine the threads.

(For the record, you don't have to combine the threads if you don't want to. They were just getting pretty big - and that "What can you thank God for today?" thread was started by me, waaaaay back in 2005 when I was single, LOL! Time for someone else to start one.)

Thank you for pointing that out... I was actually thinking that maybe some of the threads could be combined or tweaked, but that was my own personal opinion. I'm just seeing what others want to do. And anyone is open to start any thread at any time. I was just looking to see if there was any interest.

Coming out of my nearly permanent lurk mode.

IMO the "what are you doing tonight" and "right now I feel" threads eventually killed the chat thread.

As I have said many times before I liked the chat thread and would like to see it more active again but unfortunately both threads have already been restarted so that is a moot point.

Guess I'll just return to lurk mode.

Edited grammer error.

I agree with this (not that it really matters).

One could argue that it's the former contributors who are now just lurkers that helped to kill the chat thread.

The chat thread participation started dying when these threads were started. These were exactly the type of things that were discussed in the chat thread.

I have tried to revive the chat thread many times to no avail. So I gave up and quit participating.

BTW comments like the last one certainly don't make me want to return to active posting.

My apologies. I didn't intend to make you upset.

There's been 104 posts in the chat thread this month. That's just over ten a day. Not bad if you ask me. I think it's one of those things that sometimes people have time to make contributions and other times they don't. There's bound to be slow times. I always enjoy reading the chat thread posts even if I don't have time to contribute in there.

Thanks for the apology but I was already frustrated about something else and I guess it came across in my last post. So I apologize for that.

Compared to the chat thread post counts the last few months that is doing pretty good, not to the 100+ a day we used to get sometimes, but going in the right direction.

When I was new to CW the chat thread was very busy. But. . . it was busy during work hours when people had jobs where they could post all the time. That seems to have changed. People aren't on the site as much during the day. I think Facebook has impacted this as well. And we just left summer where being inside on a computer isn't a lot of people's idea of a good time. Things might pick up again now that we're heading into winter. Ugh.

There are several factors, but regardless of the number of posts in the thread, it's nice to know it's there and you can post anything (well, not anything, but you kwim).

You are correct IMO all those things have effected the chat thread as have people (like me) who stepped away. In order for it to work you have to participate. So I'll guess I will try again to be around more. Besides this is a much less frustrating place to be than others I am on.

There has been in uptick in posting in the singles chat thread this month. There are a lot of people who used to post and come here too that do not anymore as well. That has affected things a bit.
