Wow... That is pretty pathetic. And I must say, I'm surprised there's someone else on here that has a Xanga.

If you can do it right there's nothing wrong with backing into a spot because then you can pull out straight. You have to back up sometime...better to do it into a parking spot than out into traffic.

Sorry that occasionally happens when you live in an apartment complex, especially on a friday / saturday night.

Either 1) don't say anything, or 2) leave a note on the truck.

If you were completely blocked in you could get the truck towed.

I back in sometimes, someone's got a humongous van and its safer to pull forward when she parks next to me. It's actually encouraged to back in when it snows cause you get better traction pulling out.

Oh my! It looks like they were purposely trying to block you in. Good thing you're slim. There's no way I would have been able to get into my car if they'd parked that way beside me.

However, I agree with Zoebob. If a person can do it well, backing in is the way to go. That way you don't have to back out into traffic. This person obviously can't do it well though. (That is unless they've heard you calling them a moron and were trying to make a point. )

Yeah, it really looks like that was on purpose. He should have fixed that, but most likely he didn't even notice. Don't take it so personally. Now if he parks in front of you that's a different story. I agree backing in makes getting out alot easier. I don't usually do that but I like to pull straight up if there is a space in front at places that get real crowded.

The funny thing is that I do usually pull into a parking space (I don't think there really are any places I go that I could) and I DON"T pull through if I'm going grocery shopping because I want to be able to load into the back of my van and if I can't get the cart to the back it doesn't help any.

i dont think it was intentional... because i dont know anyone here. i keep to myself. i dont talk to anyone. i dont even make eye contact when i leave :P

its possible we was drunk when he came home. lol. i was just cracking up cause im like "why didnt he just re[park?" and furtehrmore his door was ALOT wider than my doors... and his driver door was a lot closer to my car cause of his angle, than my driver door was to his... so im like "what, did this guy crawl through to the other side?!"

i wear a size Zero jeans... so i guess it works out for me. but i wish i could have seen this guy get out... just to see how he did it... and he didnt just go repark.

LOL!

The thought that he may have been drunk crossed my mind. Too bad you didn't get a picture of him getting out of the truck. He had to have slid out the other side.

My hubby can back up anything!!!!! He is great!!! Of course he can also drive all those big Army vehicles he works on better then he can drive a regular sized car...lol. I leave the backing in to him though, not because I think it is moronic, just because I do not like doing it. I can...he taught me very well...I just don't like to have to.

If I were foolish enough to TRY to back in to a parking space, it would probably be a poor job. (Which is, of course, why I don't even try!)

it just seems so much harder to back into a tiny parking place... then to back out into a HUGE OPEN parking lot lane.

and i'd be scared of sideswiping the car next to me, taking off their mirror.

Keith, half your problem is you live in Tulsa..LOL
The hundreds of times I have been there I realize how quickly no one knows how to drive!
So I'm not surprised they don't know how to park.

It actually takes more skill to back in. I second the probably drunk theory.

That happens way too often here in my complex -- the over-the-line part, not the backing in.

True, the painted lines desperately need to be redone... and the lighting is terrible....
but still... for cryin' out loud, try at least one more time to park within the lines, even if you don't center the vehicle very well.

We're already hurtin' for spaces around here anyway.

I feel your pain, keith.

I'm curious as to what got onto the guy's truck on the corner... is that mud? chocolate milk? his morning 4Bux?

I think he just wanted to be next to the trash dumpster and was jealous that you had that spot.

I've found that it is usually better to just let it go. Stupid and/or self-absorbed neighbors tend to practice sneaky revenge after a visit from the police or even the landlord. If you feel it is necessary to contact authority for annoying or obnoxious behavior, just be prepared to change an un-repairable tire some early morning (most likely a cold or rainy one) or to learn firsthand what it means to have your car keyed.

I make a motion we carry the "he's a drunk moron" theory. What a dimwad.

Had a similar problem at the childrens hospital - was totally closed into the space and could do NOTHING until the ding a ling who parked so badly was done with HER child's appointment and came out. And then I got called some nasty names b/c she got a ticket.

You just can't argue with stupidity man.

i would never call the cops for something liek this... we don't have much of a force, for the crime we have.. and would feel real guilty tying them up with something lame.

i would post a not very insulting and demeaning. but figured it would make me a target, since he almost run up over my car anyway. :P so i just prefer to blog it. hah! i feel better, and people laugh

I thought of this thread this morning as I backed out of my spot, trying not to hit the extended cab pickup parked in the space behind me. Gave me a good laugh. Thanks.
