ORIGINAL: Jlynne Name: Jodi-Lynn Overby Location: Lindstrom, Minnesota How long have you been posting/lurking?: I just started lol What do you enjoy doing?: Hanging out, going to church events, talking and being with my kids, reading, watching movies and snuggling on the sofa (just me and my blankey at this point), basically just hanging out with those who are Christians and want to glorify the Lord in all that they do. Tell us a little about yourself: Well this is the part that is hard for me but I will give it the old college try. I am a 37yr old divorced single mom of two wonderfully challenging children who are 15, and 12. I am a woman of dignity who has MUCH drama on a continuous basis. There is never a dull moment in my home or in my life. Ya know how people say leave your luggage and walk away; or leave it at home? Well I can do that for very SHORT periods of time. Right now however I am in the middle of a criminal dilema with my son and just need to decompress with someone who can make me laugh and hold me when I cry. I love to read, sing, and sometimes I write about what is going on in the form of poems that I just simply do not think about they just come to mind and I write (type) them down. I am not much of a sports person but I have been known to toss the ball around with my kids on occassion. I LOVE dogs and definitely want to get to know someone who feels the same way. I am not a clean freak at all; I like to feel as though my home is lived in and does not look as though you cannot touch anything. I am an open book and believe in complete honesty and faithfullness and ask that those who are around me do the same. I hope that I did not scare anyone off with all the stuff that is going on right now because I really need someone who I can type to, call, go out for coffee with and just have some fun. I love to laugh, and I can even laugh at myself when I trip over AIR! You know what I am talking about right? When you trip for absolutely NO reason? Or end up hitting the tip of your shoe on the sidewalk and it makes you sortta stumble? I am told that I am a very funny person and I have a lot to offer the people in my life. I am a giving person and will sometimes give to much of myself to others. Thank you to those who read my post and may God Bless you and your family! Welcome, Jodi! Didn't scare me off one bit... I've got a 20-year-old so I know a little about drama. This is a great place to just decompress, laugh, cry, and whatever else you need at the moment. Find some threads that interest you and jump right in. quote:
Trust me, there are plenty of us who know EXACTLY what you mean about tripping over Air! I do it all the time! That's 'cause you're blonde!!!! *runs away* Well thank you for telling me that I did not scare you away because there are times that I scare myself away! I am on the fifth day of being grounded with my son. By that I mean because of the rotten and sinful choices that he made I am being made to stay so close to him that I am beginning to feel like he is my permanent fifth appendage! I can't even go down to the laundry room in my apartment building because there are TEN kids directly across the hall from me right now and they are constantly and I mean CONSTANTLY in the hallways running in and out. How am I supposed to get the simple things in life done when EVERY where I have to go he has to be with? Don't get me wrong people, I LOVE my son and I would trade my life for him any day but why am I feeling so scorned about having to have him with me all the time? I have wanted him to live with me for years! Now that he is I am going crazy and feeling very much like I am being punished for his wrong - doings. My feelings are all over the place and I miss my daughter something FEIRCE! I was told not asked by the judge that my son will be remanded into my custody and that he was not allowed to be around any minors unless he is in school. That means that even on my court awarded (from previous family court decision) weekends and Wednesday visits that I cannot see my daughter and I am plenty ticked about that. I just hope that the county workers that will be coming in and out of our home help me to find some way to be able to have some time with my daughter. For example, on the weekends that I am supposed to have both of my children that they hire someone to come in and stay with my son for the day of Saturday and Sunday so that my daughter and I can have that time together so that OUR relationship that I worked so hard on does not deteriorate. She is at that age where she really needs me and we just finally after ten YEARS started reconnecting. I mean on Saturday she and I went to a bookstore in town and then out for coffee. We were finally starting to become friends and now my son messed that up completely! I could go on and on about all of this but I am going to stop because I don't want to momopolize the board with all my drama and problems. BTW Happy He Has Risen Day everyone!

ORIGINAL: fpascarelli I have lots of interests and also spend time a lot of time as the organizer of a meetup group that I started last year, called Dallas Christian Singles. We have almost 1600 members so that keeps me real busy. welcome fred (and others too)! i think the above quote might deserves some further attention/elaboration/explaination in another post or maybe a thread. i realize dallas has a lot of people but 1600 members seems awesome and would be worthwhile to those of us who have complained of lack of singles at our church (myself included in the past). i think it's rather easy to be start a meetup group (at least technically, maybe not timewise) and i think a lot of people might not know about this tool or sites like it.

Name:Chris, 25 Location: TN How long have you been posting/lurking?:I joined a while ago to get some advice on something. After that I stopped coming to the site. I decided to come back for some Christian interaction since I can't seem to make it to church for anything. What do you enjoy doing?:Reading, video games, computers, philosophy, psychology, astronomy, sleeping. Tell us a little about yourself: I am a very relaxed person, there isn't much that makes me lose my calm demeanor. I prefer to have a few good friends rather than a lot of friends whom I don't know as well. I'm a homebody and a nerd, I would never go anywhere if people didn't invite me out. I was raised Christian but fell away in my teens to seek the world. Now I want to have a relationship with God but it's tough.

Name: Jacob; 25--frequently masquerades on the internet as "The Theory" or "SirTheory" Location: Millersville/Lancaster PA... aka, Central-ish PA. Amish Area. Home to James Buchanan: frequently ranked as worst president ever. How long have you been posting/lurking?: Three, four days? I dunno. Chronology is not my strong point. Wasn't really interested in adding another Christian-themed message board to my stomping grounds... but this place was replacing one of my former message boards, so I went ahead and signed up the same day I discovered it. What do you enjoy doing?: Hanging out with friends, watching movies, watching anime, playing video games, reading, writing (I'm an English major who focuses on creative writing), learning, doing things with friends, internetting, music (both listening and critiquing... I'm pretty sure there is a special place for people who like writing criticisms of music)... essentially if it is nerdy in some way, I'll probably like it. eating, drinking, being merry, multiple vices--including eating, drinking, and being merry. Tell us a little about yourself: While I usually don't say this to start off an introduction, in the context of a Christian message board it seems prudent to mention that I am very liberal religiously. In Central PA I'd also be considered very liberal politically... although for the US as a whole I'd be considered a moderate with a slight left lean. As mentioned above I'm an English major who wants to write. I'm also quite realistic knowing that the chances of me making a living writing are slim to none. My back-up plan is to go to graduate school and work my way up the educational ladder until some poor school hires me as either an English professor or a janitor. My back-up plan to that is to work menial jobs for barely over minimum wage. Worst case scenario there is a really great cardboard box in some shady ally that I'm pretty sure I can take over by kicking out the weak hobo currently residing there. Would love to get married... although as I've been on one date in my illustrious 25+ years on this planet, my hopes are not all that high. On the other hand, I've got a pretty stellar personality.......so we'll see.

Greetings Jacob the Theorist! Pennsylvania rocks in my opinion. Any state that knows what a hoagie is supposed to taste like and provides folks like Aaron Shuust space to grow up- and the Steelers, and the Pirates, and the Penguins. I don't know much about the hobo clans there- so I'd watch it if I were you. Every nice fridge box was bought with a price... or carried with great effort. Hope you enjoy your time in the folders here.
