I didn't get a good run in, a nosy personal trainer started asking me questions as soon as I started to speed up. So I only ran for a few minutes. Also I skipped my snack and I could feel it, I had no energy. I might go to spin class tomorrow or try running again.

I ate a Thanksgiving dinner today at work and afterwards had a major sinus headache. I did not feel like running but was determined to go anyway. I ran well and faster than before and had some stuff left over. Don't get me wrong... I still don't like it but I'm pushing myself and the 50 yr old body is compliant. I did some weights afterward and was wasted but it was a good wasted. This is turning into a lifestyle. I'm seeing and feeling changes. Also, my wife and son went with me to the Y so maybe I am finally rubbing off on them. The high tomorrow is 48 degrees. I may try and run outside for a change of pace. I have some pretty decent Nike airs. I may even wear my watch and just see how long I can go. 45 mins would be really cool.

I don't understand why I am having issues with my sprints. I do 2 - 1 min and 2 - 2 min sprints and I can't seem to make it. It has not been a problem before. All of a sudden I had to stop to rest and now I can't do it anymore. I was about to go all the way back and start over with my program, work back up to the sprints. I am not sure what happened. Today I ran. I had to stop 3 times. :( Maybe I will get enough rest on the weekend to run better on Monday. It is not my body it is my lungs.

reach--you have pretty feet??? Mine are, well, lets just say sandals are not my friend... No run for me today. I did ride. I had hoped to do closer to 60miles but it was so cold I decided to cut it to 50. In the end it was only 46miles. Oh well. Another long ride tomorrow. Probably no running until Monday or Tuesday.

Today's run was the hardest yet. Probably because I ran and lifted last night. But I am going away tomorrow for a week and won't be able to run, so I bunched up runs. Won't do that again. I hurt already! I am on the fourth week of the Couch to 5K. I can't believe I ran 5 mins straight! I'm doing great!

Congratulations HomeSpun! Keep it up! (If it makes you feel any better, you don't lose running fitness until you've stopped running for about two weeks. So you should be able to pick up where you left off when you get back home.) quote:
I ran 3 miles today. It was hard - but mostly because I think I should have waited a little longer after lunch to run. I didn't get sick, but I could tell it was too soon after eating... I had this experience yesterday, but the opposite. I waited too long to run after eating and got all woozy. (My two-hour run got canceled, so I was on my own.)

All y'alls are getting in some really great runs!!! Running for me has taken a backseat right now. No runs this weekend as I rode long both days (46 and 62miles). I had hoped to throw in a short little run today after my swim today. However, 35* and rain I decided it wasn't worth it! I'll try again tomorrow.

I am going to run tonight! Yeah! I got my skates out yesterday and rotated my wheels, so I got to roller blade yesterday and I did an ab routine and a yoga routine with my husband. Yeah!

Call it an addiction... I am heading up to my Grandma's Wednesday evening. My "excuse" is so that I can be there in the morning to help with dinner prep. Actually, since dinner will be served at noon, we would have ot leave here no later than 10am. Meaning, no time for a run. But, since I'm already up there, I can get my run in, and still have time to help with dinner! Here's the crazy part. We will come home Thursday evening. Then, Friday ds1 and I will ride back up there, then home again on Saturday! Kinda silly, I know. We ride up every spring and Grandma keeps asking us when we're riding up again. So, that's what we are doing! It's only 85miles each day.

Yikes! Is that riding a bike? Oh my bottom hurts just thinking about it! I am off to the gym. I will let you know how I do. I am sore from the thigh exercizes I did, so I pray I can make it through my run. *********************************************************************************** OK I just got back from the gym, and I stopped once, but I could have made it, so I am feeling good. Wed I will definately be able to run the whole 40 min, and next week I can start increasing my time again. I have been stuck because of not being able to finish the 40 min. I did not want to go to the next level.

reach--yah, it's on a bike. It will be a bit of a stretch this time since we don't quite have the training in. Our longest this fall has been 62miles. But, every spring we do a back to back 105/105, so we know we can do it. We just won't set any records this time. I had planned on doing my long run on Thursday. Well, dh's car died yesterday, leaving us with only one vehicle. So we'll all go up Thursday morning. Bummer.... I ended up doing my long run today. I had DEAD EVEN splits!!! 11.26miles in 1:46, for a 9:28pace. A bit slower than I'd like, but I'll take it!
