Yes...they're in second place for spending but they've got a FANTASTIC farm team. The Yanks may have some good pitching in their farm system...but they've typicall not used it much. All they've got to show for *all* those pitchers they tried out last year is Joba Chamberlin...and he's nothing special, imo...too cocky!

What about Phillip and Kennedy? Joba is cocky? Really? He's struck me as a good ol' farm boy, more bouncy like a little boy then arrogant. Cano was a farm system product, too, and he's doing well. I agree that for years the Yanks were not developing a good farm system, but that has really turned around since Brian Cashman took a firmer hand in running things.

Phillip Huges is just an 'ok'pitcher. Joba definitely struck both Joel and me as cocky. He just gets this look on his face like, "Yeah I know I'm good" which a young rookie, imo, shouldn't have. That is good that the Yanks are developing a better farm system. Especially since so many of their players (like Mariano) are aging, and fast!

cubs even have a team anymore???? actually, would love to see the cubs win one since the red sox and pale sox have won one. rather see the old teams with some new rings.

Good to see you too, clag4christ!!! I've missed talking baseball with you. Me too!!! So...what's the one (or more) move that you're happy that your Cubbies have made in the off season?

Those lucky Mets! Thank you, thank you very much. Of course it's gonna cost a year's salary to go to a game now. Good thing every game gets broadcast.

Hmmm...I know the Astros don't have a decent pitching rotation behind Roy... but I am still rooting for them! It's my home team and my favorite team! They have surprise people in the past! Maybe they can do it again! Hopefully our starting pitchers will step up! We definately have a good batting line up this year which we needed.
