OK, my temps are going even higher since TOM came. How long is normal for them to be elevated after TOM starts? The day I started, my temp was 97.67. Yesterday was 97.49. Today is 97.69. My pre-o temp was 96.64. My coverline was 96.99.

I will try and call after students are dismissed. What exactly should I tell them?

I would personally give it a few days. My temps have been elevated as much as 4-5 days, then dropped. Also, I would make extra sure that the temp in the room has not changed dramatically, and my sleeping habits/temperature taking habits had not changed drastically, and that I was using the same thermometer - and that the battery was still in good condition - and that I was taking my temp at the same time each morning, before all activity. If your temps remain elevated, then you might want to check with your doctor, but really... I would just give it a couple of days to come down.

For some reason mine is like that too. It feels almost like my miscarriage. I just want to crawl into bed and sleep. Are your cramps 'different' than they usually are with your period? I wouldn't ask for a pregnancy test, right now -- since you are bleeding... I'd wait a bit longer and see what happens.

Seriously, though it's better to be on the safe side especially if your temps are going triphasic now and your bleeding, to either confirm pregnancy or rule out an ectopic pregnancy. Haha, I kinda figured that part, but since I've never actually asked for one before, I didn't know if there was some secret code or something I needed to use. I actually called, and apparently at my doc you can walk in anytime and request a blood test and they will just do it right away. Is that normal?? I went in on my way home from school and had it done. I am supposed to call tomorrow to find out what it says. They actually told me it was a good thing I came in, especially since I am Rh negative, and if I was pregnant and bleeding, I would need to get a RhoGam shot. I am glad they said that, because I felt kind of dumb asking for a blood test when I was bleeding, KWIM?

This time, I actually threw up the night I started. I felt fine, was laying in bed, and suddenly had to run for the bathroom to throw up. I also hadn't eaten very much dinner at all that night because I felt stuffed after like 3 bites. It was really weird. Today, I'm barely bleeding at all. It still feels like I'm gushing, but I haven't done much of anything at all. Apparently I don't get to have anything normal, lol.

ORIGINAL: clag4christ For almost 6.5 years. I started taking it in May of 2003 and lost over 30 lbs. initially. It took us another 18 months to conceive after I started it. Have you spoken to your docs office yet? I just got off the phone with them, and they said it was negative, so I guess that's good, since I was bleeding and all. I guess there's always this month. TOM is completely gone, so back to the starting board.

Clag, I've been reading about controversy on whether or not to take Met while TTC and while pregnant. What has your research shown on the subject?

I'm not "clag", but the information I have gathered about Metformin during TTC and pregnancy is that it is safe (at least in the early parts of pregnancy). SweetLittleErin took Metformin when she was TTC and then during the first 12 (?) weeks of her pregnancy. I think clag4christ has done the same. I'm not charting anymore. It just took too much out of me to continue to try to medicate, chart, etc. without seeing results. I continue to take the Metformin and pray that God will bless us.

My research has shown that it's much, much more beneficial while TTC and in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy then it is possibly harmful.

I think taking it after 12 weeks depends on your OB's preference. I have a friend who is pretty insulin resistant and took it through her entire pregnancy, I think she was borderline GD but I don't remember...

I haven't conceived taking Metformin, so I'll cross that bridge if/when that happens. Kim? Erin? ???
