You got that right, Karlie. I've had teachers tell me that I don't need to push myself so hard, but I always respond, "I have a 4.0, and I intend to keep it." I got a potential job lead the other day. When they asked how my grades were, and I responded that I have a 4.0, their eyes about popped out of their head. Oh yeah. It's worth it.

Wow, those are high scores! quote:
ORIGINAL: awed Karlie, I don't have a doubt in my mind that you will achieve what you have set out to achieve. You have heard the call, have the will, faith and drive, have seen with your own eyes the desperate need for advocacy for children who have no control over their own lives and in faith answered that call. There are some children and families out there waiting just for YOU. I totally agree. Catherine, I was wondering about the pints too. Way to go, James!

That's great James! Catherine, if you never go back and are happy where you are, that's great. Lots of people are totally happy without going back to school, my husband being one of them. Just keep in mind that people change over the years. I had NO plans on ever going this far when I was in my 20s and even early 30s. it wasn't until I was 35 that I decided I was going back to school. Yea, it's been a pain at times, but to be where I am now and be so close to accomplishing what I have dreamed of all these years makes it totally worth it. Here's a funny story about Britt's very unusual cat. Last night, her dishwasher overflowed and she had to use about 4 bath towels to soak up all the water. Her cat stood there carefully watching her every move, looking at the water and patting at it with his paws, then checking out the towels and watching them absorb the water. Britt thought it was funny how much attention he was paying and how fascinated he was by it all. Well, this morning, she was sitting in the livingroom and heard water sloshing around and looked up to see him purposely dumping over his water bowl. Then he jumped up on the counter, grabbed the dishtowel and laid it over the water mess and stood back to watch it absorb the water. Isn't that hilarious??

My dad used to love a good Guiness every now and then.

That is a VERY smart cat!! Did Britt get some pics or video at all?

You could put it on America's Funniest Home Videos or on youtube.

I couldn't tell a beer from an ale, or anything else. I've taken a few sips of beer in the past and decided it tastes like pee probably does(notice I said probably, as I have no real knowledge of what pee actually tastes like!) I have no desire to ever try it again Sharon, she didn't get video. I need to tell her to start getting some. He does some very strange things and mimics them a lot. She said the cat, Underfoot, loves watching her husband put on his boots every day before he goes to work...he runs in and sits there watching his every move. The other day, when he took his boots off, Underfoot went over and put a leg in each boot and just stood there looking around. Too funny!

Hmph, cat stands in boots and is smart. Dog takes boots and moves them out of the way and he's dumb. It's a sadly biased world we live in.

LOL Bill!! I choked on my coffee reading that...too funny! I'm not a cat person AT all. I do like hearing Britt's cat stories because, well, she seems to attract psycho cats! I do like dogs though...as long as they are bigger breeds, and outside and not shedding all over my house. My first week of school went well. I found out something last night that was interesting. My professor told us that National graduates of the counseling program(where I go now) are much more marketable than FSU graduates(where I tried to get in and couldn't). She says it's pretty well established among counseling agencies that National produces a much higher calibur of therapist than FSU, and all the places she consults and works with prefer National graduates. Maybe that's why God closed the door at my alma mater and led me here.

LOL Bill! Good to have another dog lover around here. Underfoot sure does sound smart though. Curious, then tries it out for himself. Just as long as there are some things that he doesn't try for himself, like standing too close to heated objects etc.

Hey Guys :) Trish, I'm doing well. Back to having my nose in a book and studying most of the day, but things are going well. It feels so good to be back at it and doing something again. I have my first presentation in two weeks...yikes! I'm now in the process of trying to decide which facility I'd like to do my practicum hours at. I have a ways before that begins, but need to set it up soon. One is at a well respected Christian counseling place, and I am leaning to there, even though it won't be as broad of an experience. I'm going to check on dividing my hours up between 2 or 3 different agencies and see if that will fly. Time for chocolate ice cream and more reading...yay!

Now that you're a college student, and presumably on a budget, you may find some stylish, albeit pre-owned, women's hoofers at low prices at Goodwill or a good consignment shop. Shoes have a lot less sugar, fat and cholesterol than chocolate. I oughta know; I have diabetes and wear shoes (men's) all the time! I'm happy to hear all is going well with your classes. Keep up the good work.
