I have been following the inspiring blog of a husband whose young wife was stricken with brain cancer...she passed away last September leaving him and their baby girl behind.
I found his account of what took place when he took her to see Todd Bentley in Lakeland (a few months before her death) interesting and enlightening.

Thanks Kat,
I enjoyed his true story and his candidness.
Bentley is a fraud and fake.
But with all that, the man and his wife realized
they had to turn to God's Word fully and completely.
What a blessing those last days were for them.
And now she is dancing in Heaven.

I came across this post by Bill Johnson, one of those who went to Lakeland to endorse/cover/or whatever they call it, going onstage with Bentley. Here is an excerpt:
I went to Lakeland because of his enemies. The relentless criticism and opposition, coupled with the grueling and sometimes unwise schedule, were bound to take their toll on this young man—emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. It happened two years ago, and it could happen again. It was my intention to bring a deflection into the mix so that he wouldn't take all the heat by himself. Little did I realize it was too late. He was at the place of burnout again, abandoning his marriage and pulling out of all public ministry. While I will never blame Todd's opponents for Todd's bad choices (Todd alone is responsible for them) their opposition had a greater effect than any of his critics will likely own up to in this lifetime.
While he "will never blame" the critics of Lakeland and its lack of Biblical support and in the case of those not healed etc, reality support, he attempts to fling a zinger here, "...a greater effect than any of his critics will likely own up to in this lifetime."
It is ridiculous to imply that critics brought Bentley down. The criticism of the lack of any Scriptural support for the Lakeland activites/teachings discussed here _would have helped_ a minister who wanted to move away from error. The message is that _any_ criticism of the supernatural/prophetic crowd leaves a nebulous guilt on the one bringing it.
No one who posted here has backed away from comparing Lakeland to the Scriptures, nor should they.

I had found this months ago on youtube; it is Bill Johnson reading a letter sent to who from a person who can't understand why he would support Bentley. He reads the letter, then remarks on it during a church service (I believe at Bethel).

I watched it, thanks for the link.
Notice how the set of questions he asked in response to the email have nothing at all to do with whether Bentley was unscriptural with his teachings and behavior.
It would be interesting to know if there has ever been _any_ response from any of the New Apostolic/supernatural/prophetic crowd regarding the criticism of angel Emma, knee-to-gut ministry and so forth.

Also on the video, I think about 2min in, one of his responses is talking about how Todd and his family are pretty much a loving couple etc...(paraphrasing of course...). Remarkable that in a matter of months the marraige was over, and he had a mistress...

His critics had nothing to do with his downfall.
They may have something to do to rescue his victims.
I own up to any part I've had in this ordeal.

I'm a proud gun owner that uses it for protection
of garden and flocks.
This whole debauchle has been a blessing for me because
it opened my eyes to all the other frauds and fakes out there.
Some I listened to and some I wondered about. But this
brought it all to a head for me. The fakes exposed and the
questions answered. The dots connected and the picture
made clear.
I've lost ties with those who can't see beyond the false claims,
but that's okay. They broke it off, not I.

I found this scripture this morning and thought immediately of Todd Bentley. It seems almost prophetic....
Col 2:18 Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on {visions} he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind,
Col 2:19 and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.
