It's easier to hear someone tell you what you want to hear rather than find it yourself and accept what the Word says..... It's very sad, how may are deceived and lost. There is one question in Scripture that has forever racked my brain. Jesus asking, "Who do you say I am?" It's the most important question that can be asked. I wonder what those in this movement of angels and anointing and healing circuses would say? Yep.............. And in another place, He says, "then why don't you obey my commands?"

These are generalizations, and therefore are not always true. Todd still cannot understand why his former wife did not seem to appreciate his success in ministry. She married Todd, not the ministry, and the ministry was causing increasing problems in the relationship, which was more important to her and would be to most women. At the same time, Todd obviously felt unappreciated for all that he was accomplishing, and this can be a dangerous open door to inappropriate affection from others who might seem to appreciate that kind of success more. "--Also, many assumed after the last Special Bulletin that the request for contributions to support Todd indicated that he was already back in ministry. Not so. Many had expressed the desire to support him...." Rick Joyner and Todd Part 2 The continued justifications of Bentleys "ministry" and the insistance on restoring him to it make me wonder more and more what Joyner is getting away with. If Bentleys' behaviour in physically assaulting people in church and running around on his wife can be excused what else can a "minister" be allowed? Bentleys' behaviour showed he was not ministering for God or under His Leading (it was more the behaviour of someone lead by the adversary, not God's spirit). I hope Bentley is "restored" to Jesus (If he ever really knew him), but any "ministry" he has is rightly suspect by anyone who discerns using God's word and God's standards revealed in that word. This bunch is a plague on christians who are trying to minister and have to explain their actions to unbelievers, they've just created one more hurcle between the unbeliever and salvation.

However, we have no illusions about convincing everyone or causing everyone to change their positions, but it is forcing many to examine some basic issues and doctrines, which do need to be examined. That’s one reason why I think Todd has the gift of being so controversial. I don't know that I would call it a "gift." And what he had done is NOT from God. The proof is in the spilled pudding. quote:

One issue that seems to be a focal point in our seeking to restore Todd is how wroth some leaders are to this very idea that Todd could actually be restored to ministry after what he has done. Not surprisingly, most of these seem to be the same ones who were critics of the Lakeland Revival or to Todd’s ministry before that. I don’t want to marginalize their concerns regardless of their previous or present positions, and I consider that most of these are sincerely concerned for the sake of righteousness and/or not causing many more to stumble by thinking too casually about divorce. These concerns I share. However, we need to also consider how much of this concern is also rooted in a flawed perception of what ministry is supposed to be. To many, it is a profession rather than a calling and viewed as a means of self-promotion or self-fulfillment rather than the sacrifice it is supposed to be. The same critics of Lakeland? Well, go figure. quote:
One advantage of the extraordinary attention Todd draws is the huge number of people, especially those who have suffered a divorce, who have been given hope that if Todd can be restored and be useful to the Lord, so can they. Some of these really made terrible mistakes, for which they are now sorry, but they have not found forgiveness or restoration from the church. Todd’s very public failures have broadcast to many that there is hope. As many who are truly concerned about Todd and those like him, they very much want them to be restored to Jesus Christ, but not given a green light to ministry without it.

I just do not understand how people like Rick Joyner can believe Todd is meant to be in the ministry no matter what, and that restoration is some kind of overriding priority. If anything, the chronic issues with mood disorders that he described in this column are yet another reason why it should be a long time before Todd should even be considered as equipped for the ministry.

Thanks & blessings to all who have remained informed about this serious issue & who have taken the time to post updated information! (Standing ovation as well) It is truly a sad reflection on the state of Christianity when more & more 'leaders' choose to re-write the Bible to make the Word adapt to their view of how Christians should walk. We're all fallible ... none of us is perfect. However, having said that, those in the position of leadership should know they are to provide the example for everyone else. How else are we supposed to correctly grow if our Faith leaders opt to follow their own paths? Well, I don't subscribe to either Todd Bentley's or Rick Joyner's version of Christianity. I do, however, believe in and continue to kneel in diligent prayer for them & all of their ilk. On a side note: Last year, when the Lakeland sessions occurred, I watched many of the nightly meetings. So many people exuberantly praised the meetings, and, naturally, I had to have a look-see. One thought that recurred quite often during those evenings: The power bills haven't been paid. People talked about the meetings as 'coming to the Light' ... but all I found was darkness. And it was not a soothing darkness at that. Anyway ... again, thanks & blessings to you for providing excellent, updated information concerning Mr. Bentley et al. Peace & Love in Christ!

Rick Joyner is no more equipped for ministry than is Todd Bentley, so that shouldn't be a surprise. While Joyner may not be an alcoholic, adulturous false teacher and false prophet, he is still a documented false prophet and false teacher, spreading his vile Latter Rain tripe.

I was wondering if anyone has any updates? I heard a very good sermon today about the Holy Spirit. One of the verses was that we must "worship in spirit and truth." The contrast to that is to "worship in falsehood and deceit." I immediately thought of Todd Bentley and circle of friends. It just struck a nerve that so much passes for spirit and truth, but is obvious that people are deceived. Especially after the fact.

[See the article and the analysis here] If Todd wants to join in some meaningful ministry, He is not charged with the duty of returning to put on a show in front of others for financial gain and popularity which is a grasping after the wind as written every wind of doctrine. His lifestyle recommends Him to be found among the prison outreach for remedial teaching and sharing with an audience more fitting with whom he could relate. This is Commanded of Disciples and would be greatly admired, considering the circumstances. Surely there would be found among these Pastorate alliances and cohorts a more appreciable respect for Sound Teachings and Instructions which were to be found in evidence in the lifestyle. My recommendation would be to disallow this gentleman from returning to a leadership role for some time while distancing ones self from the previous engagements for this set of Movements. Surely, there are other instruments among the orchestra which makes different sounds than this particular one. There are many other Pastoral Candidates to choose from among the Peoples for Florida. These do not have to be involved directly in the financial administrative Pastoralship operations, thus keeping these separate and focusing ones efforts upon The Gospel. There are plenty other businesses among those of the controlled substances in Florida. One hopes to see that some would take The Messiah to be of a lot more value than ones financial operations and affairs. One demands nothing less than this in and among The Pastorate as written.

If one is faithful in financial operations, with a few things, one can be faithful with many as written and more responsibility for true ownership can be added for one would be found accounted for as trustworthy. If one spends their fast time on behalf of the poor and needy, was this not the fast that The Lord has chosen among the peoples in Deed and Word when He came? For these would be remaining with evidence of what was done when The Day comes for Testimony and one could be helped out by their inheritance which they receive and they could invite you to stay with them. For if one was found unfaithful in these concerns and untrustworthy, who would allot them an inheritance of their own on The Day? For the days of the prodigal would have come to their end and He would give to whomever He so chooses for it is His Kingdom and Empires to bestow upon whom He would. As in Luke Blessed poor, and as in the rich man and Lazarus who had suffered many troubles like Job.

Recently heard there is a video from his now wife on Joyner`s site. It is interesting that you mention a sermon about worship in truth, recently while in Brazil I was led to do what was intended to be 2 parts but ended up with a full one part text on worship in spirit and truth. You can find it here: Worship in spirit and truth

My question to the Ivory Tower theologians...... Do you guys realize you have wasted a year and a half of your lives arguing and getting bent out of shape over this?

True, also, we really weren't arguing. We were just letting each other know what has happening in the world of Christendom. I can't recall ever really being combative in this thread; except in the case of someone coming in to say that Todd is some great preacher or something. Even then, I never fought or got bent out of shape.

'Ivory tower theolgians..?' Hey, that's pretty good...I finally made it to the 'Ivory Tower...' Yeppeeee!! So I suppose being accountable and warning unsuspecting people of false teachers is a waste of time in your theology..? Sad... Matthew

Ivory Tower theologians. Now that's priceless. However, I prefer "Heresy Hunter" Besides, where is the arguing? That would imply that someone here actually endorsed and supported this tool of satan and the frauds that are "restoring" him. BTW, do you consider Paul, Peter, and the rest of the disciples "Ivory Tower theologians", for defending the Word of God by exposing false teachers?
