Thanks, OK, gas was down to 3.89 by my house. I am so lucky that the gas station leading the downward spiral is by my house. :)

Thanks Rach!

They're down to $3.83 here. I've also noticed that they are back to offering a lower price if you pay with cash.

I just wish the gap between diesel and gasoline would go away - we spent over $1500 dollars in fuel while on vacation!

We saw one yesterday that was 3.49! We tried to fill up, but they won't let you put more than $50 on a debit card at a time.

I told y'all last week about the Chevron station that opened and the gas war that brought the price to 2.34 that day, and how the Shell station across the street was trying to keep up.

Well, the Shell doesn't have the newer style electronic sign, and when I went by there tonight the Chevron was at 3.23. The Shell has given up trying to keep up with the suction cup numbers and now has a banner up saying that they are always gong to be 7 cents less than the Chevron station.

I like these gas wars. Let's have more of them!

I'd love to see a gas war. Haven't seen one in years. It's like the station owners get together and decide the night before what the price will be the next day, because it's always the same at every station where I live.

it's not hard to find $3.34 or so around here....

same here....when I drive home from work, the price has usually slipped 3-4˘ from that morning...

then, the morning the next day, it's gone down AGAIN.....and, that afternoon, down further.

and, what "legislation" passed by congress has caused this rather rapid decline in gasoline prices?

It is in the high 3.70s and low 3.80s here. I do try to drive less and we have had to totally reorganize our budget because everything else went up too. I don't know how people can afford to live. We make decent money, but yet it is gone before we get it.

Recent geopolitical events around the Caspian Sea are bringing up oil prices today, which will probably mean higher gas prices in the future.

I'd expect oil prices to get back up to the low $120s in the next month or so, which could mean an extra quarter for a gallon of gas.

Insider tip. Most owners have stations close to their competor's office or home. They will raise the price at that station first to see if their competors will raise their too.

Not mine. They are all different. One will be 3.83 and across the street it will be 4.03.

How is that? How does the guy that is 20 cents more sell any gas?

It's about convenience. The other day when I got gas for 3.23 that's only about 20 cents cheaper than the station I usually get gas from. That translated into only a $4 savings. Not really a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.
