I'm back. Was gone for the weekend up in the mountains watching the aspens turn colors. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the kind words, and thanks to everyone that participated in this thread. We spend a lot of time discussing lots of different things, but we rarely take time to give a pat on the back to folks.
I absolutely loved reading all the posts and how everyone has a gift to bring to the table.
(For the record, I'm not qualified to be in the same room as Benelchi on biblical matters!)
I was mentioned in that category also and I do not belong in the same house as either of you.

WOW! I was out of town and the nominations were made and awards given out before I even got a chance to vote. Aw.........
Very cool idea. I'm glad you thought of it, truthrevealed, and only wish I had. 
And thanks, friends, for voting for me. It is always surprising and humbling to hear what others have to say. When I'm having a down day, I'll have to remember what y'all said. You're all very kind and I feel loved indeed.

Hi all
The awards were really fun(well sorta' with all the counting  ) but it's coming around again. I wanted to give everyone more of an advanced 'notice' as a lot of people did not know they were even going on. So, for those who were unaware last year this thread is full of love and encouragement so familiarize yourself with the process and give suggestions as to what categories we should have this year and any other suggestions. Such as......
Should the awards stay in this folder or one where there is more traffic?
I don't anticpate the voting to begin for at least a month but I'm interested in some creative categories so.......
ideas?
(especially want ideas from previous winners, runners-up) but all are welcome

Also, I was thinking that previous winners can be the ones to help decide which suggestions should become actual categories. It's all based, of course upon who participates.

Best one-liner in a thread  (something funny or thought-provoking)
Thread where you learned something that you didn't know(discussions that challenged your thinking or introduced something interesting and unfamiliar
Best moderator(this was mentioned by someone last year but I thought it might be a bit unfair as there's more of us and less of them?!???)
The person who does the best job at uniting or bringing peace
most popular.....(fill in the blank if one is needed)
most inspirational(who inspires you to be a better christian?)

Here are previous categories that I think are good:
Most memorable newcomer(so that people new to cross-walk don't feel neglected in the crowd of those who know each other well)
Most seasoned in God's Word(biblical doctrine)
Who would you most like to meet in person?
Most controversial
Most humourus(who's post can you look forward to making you laugh no matter what the subject?)

Funny, but maybe the community folder would be a better place(it's ironic though cause I've only visited that folder a hand full of times  )

I like most misunderstood and best use of smileys as well. Great ideas!
I would not vote for the community folder though. I like it here cuz this is where I hang out the most. What do others think? BTW, I don't know if I've ever visited that folder.
I'm thinking of some new categories too.
