(Hopefully) Smiling because Shallbe is all right? Not a problem to have to reset the "trip/accident free meter", but big problem is you get hurt!

How about the car, Shallbe? Did it get hurt much?

Not a whole lot. Pretty severe bruising where the seatbelt held, and a somewhat unexplainable cut over my left eye needing 10 stitches...only thing we can figure out is that the airbags might have pushed my glasses into my face there. Since I blacked out, I don't know for sure what happened.

I'm told the other people involved in the wreck are going to be fine, though I expect the little old man's car who hit me when I pulled out in front of him is totaled.

My car...well, she died a heroine's death protecting me from my stupidity.

I'm smiling because I still have the old dowager Suburban to drive tomorrow!

I've questioned significance
Meaning and relevance
Does the work I'm doing really matter at all?
Well I've questioned my friendships
Alliance, dependence
Who will still be here when I fall?

Only one thing doesn't change
Only one thing stays the same
All I know at the end of the day is your love remains

Paul Colman

What a truth!

That makes me smile...I love that song!

Smiling, because even though I just found out somethings that are totally reshaping the next few months plans...I know God must have a plan in these crazy times!

ahhh, chica, rest assured that sometimes we are in too close to see where God is leading, but there is a glorious and wonderful work He is doing in us!

I've read in other posts about your "best laid plans seeming to go by the wayside".......let me tell ya, that i think the only plans that "I" had that actually got completed in my life, was college! Since then, its been one looooong and adventurous journey! Sometimes hard, wrought with many tears.......but, i am where i am now becuz of it, and that is pretty amazing to me.

A friend of mine has a little sign in her kitchen, it says:

People plan, God laughs.

It always makes me smile when I read it. So true, something you think you are doing for one reason all of a sudden turns into something you can use for God's reason! And what do you know? All of a sudden you are heading in a whole new direction from where you thought you were! And loving it.

Yes, God does have a plan and I know that, somedays it's just hard to see through the fog and doubt to grasp His hand and seek His face.

Let's just say college is going to have to go by the wayside for a bit...at least until mom gets better...and God has opened up a spot for me to spend my summer serving others and I feel led to do it...knowing that God is wanting to use me inspite of me makes me smile!

ohh, chica......what a blessing to know u r truly being used by the Lord!

Yes, and it amazes that he would choose to use this vessel of clay and short comings to reach others for His glory!

I had a big smile last night, I got to pray through with one of the younger teen girls to receive the Holy Spirit! It was one of the most amazing things I have ever been able to be a part of in my life, just seeing the tears roll down her little face when she received it brought tears mixed with a huge smile to my face!

I had another big smile last night when SB for no reason looks at me right after we had got done praying with the teens and goes "You are an amazing young woman, you do know that, don't you?" And for once, I could as a sister-in-Christ, as a fellow-servant, look at him and tell him thank-you and that I think he's pretty amazing himself! It felt so good to know that my resolve to leave him on the altar, that God had let it hold strong.

And my last and best smile yesterday was in the car with my teenage sister on the way home from youth group. We got to talking about how some people are cute, but how some people are gorgeous and adorable because of the light of Jesus Christ that shines through them, we talked about Tim Tebow, Rebecca St. James, Jordin Sparks, and all those young men and women that God shines so brightly through their lives and as I started to ask if there were any more she could think of, she looks up at me and says "Like you? You are beautiful and Jesus shines through you too!" It was so sweet, and made me smile big time!

just wanted to dig out this thread.......

Friday was a really horrendous day for me as i faced some dreams i had and had them knocked down to the floor. Becuz of budget cuts in my district, i've been told that i will not be asked to return as a teacher w/the children. I bawled as i heard the news from the principa.....dreams of spending up to 3 years with the children, helping, motivating, inspiring them came to mind, and my heart fell within me.

Fast forward 2 dayz, and i have this peace and quietness that is supernatural. My dreams have come to an end in this spot, but the Lord has given me dreams of what is to come. Not that i have any idea where i'll be, in a job or location wise. But......i feel like something pretty amazing is around the corner from me.

I'm holding onto his promise that the Lord doeth all things well. And even in great emotional pain, and heart anguish, i am smiling through the tears!

Oh Rosie, you have such a gift to give to children! You will be used by God in children's lives somewhere. I know sometimes teachers are "laid off" because of budgets and then by the next school year are called back because situations change- I will pray that happens for you, or you find another place very quickly.

I am so glad that you have that "peace that passes understanding" that can only come from Him.

I'm smiling with you Rosie- for the good things God has planned for you next.

Smiling because I KNOW God has wonderful things in story for Rosie! You seem to be such a sweet person and have such a heart for those kiddos!

Smiling because my guy bff's (aka CR) dad this morning was giving all my guy friends a hard time and told them if "One of you idiots don't ask her out soon, I have a feeling that she's really going to pack up and go down to Florida! And don't ya'll come whining to me when she comes back married to Tebow!" LOL! It was too funny, mostly because when they are being mean to me I always tell them "If you don't cut it out, just watch and see, I'm gonna move far away and just go marry Tim Tebow!" (That will never happen of course, but that is our joke we have going!)
The whole thing just made me smile...even if it was just a silly like joke we have between us!

Smiling because one of the little three-year-olds at church today asked me why I didn't have a "boysfiend" and when I told her that I was waiting for God to bring me the right guy she replied- "Oh, He wills! 'Cause you is really pretty and nice, so He's gonna bring you a really handersome guy, so yous be cute in together!" It was so sweet!

Tlms: Thanx for bringing this back to life.

For me, this has been a rather hard stretch of grass to chew!

Hey Rosie, I'm sorry it has been a tough stretch. I know it will get better for you, but the waiting isn't any fun.

tlims, thank you for saving the galaxy! I'm not quite ready for the consequences if you hadn't! Since Jesus hasn't come back yet, I think we better keep up the good fight - one planet at a time or however we can.

I smiled tonight on the way home from dinner and a bit of shopping. The moon was coming up and it looked so beautiful. Sometimes when it comes up over the lake it looks so huge and bright! It was a pretty kind of golden color tonight- and big, shining on the water. It was beautiful.

yeah. i was driving home also, on a dark and kindof windy road.......but saw the moon huge and bright in the distance, and was ike huh?!?!? It was a sight for sore eyes, as it were.

I was listening to the Jeremy Camp CD in the car and just marvelling at the goodness of God.

Yeah.

The moon all big and bright like that always makes me think of Joy2give2u too. She used to post about the moon quite a bit.

Nature is really awesome, isn't it. It really does testify to the goodness and the awesomeness (is that even a word? lol) of God. All creation testifies...

Difference is good. As Paul said, we can't all be hands or feet or the head... we need all the parts to work together! It's silly when we don't appreciate each other for the part of the Body that we are, we all need each other to make a whole.

Well, I'm getting tired, better smile myslef into bed I think!
