what the heck is going on with da Bears?

5 picks?

I like Lovie but it seems that there may be some kind of quarterback curse or something!!

This is like the 3rd quarterback in 4 yrs or something like that?

Wow. I don't have the NFL network so I couldn't watch the game last night but oh boy .

Between the Cubs and the Bears that doubles the curse. Maybe the curse is something swept in by the bitter wind off Lake Michigan?

The Bears definitely got the worse of the Orton-Cutler trade as evidenced by the success of the Broncos.

I am hoping my Steelers don't fall victim to the Bengals again although I am sure Duane disagrees with me. (No Witch Doctor song this time OK? )

Senor Ochocinco is lighter in the wallet $20,000 for his $1 "bribe" of an official. He'd have been better off if he had bought a lottery ticket!

The Bears didn't do anything to help build up the offense. No stud receivers, iffy offensive line.

Tell me about it. You get a good QB, you gotta get him some protection. They didn't. Orlando Pace was a bust, and even if he wasn't, he's only one guy. I watch the O-line fold like a cheap suit on almost every play. It's pathetic.

Plus the receivers are iffy. A couple have good speed, but there really isn't a standout receiver on the team. I'm surprised Cutler doesn't throw 5 picks in every game. He can't be great all by himself.

First half of last night's game was not pretty. The Steelers though shut the Steel curtain on Orton in the second half. Denver does look like a different team though and I am sure they are not missing crybaby Cutler.

Why is it that everyone who leaves the Bears becomes better after they leave?

They fired Ditka and built up decades worth of negative Karma because of it.

Speaking of Ditka. Commisioner Roger Goodell should ban the use of the coaches images, on those Coors Light ads: Not for moral reasons, but simply because they are awful commercials, not in the least bit funny.

WHO DEY!! The Bengals win again, and sweep the season series from the Steelers and the Ravens in the same season!! And the most amazing thing about the whole thing is that they're doing it with their defense! This is coming from a team that kept getting shredded last year, at least until the last 1/3 of the season. Now, they've got some bite to that side of the ball!

The Cowboys are still scoreless with the Packers. Hopefully they'll get it in gear soon. And the big game tonight is the Pats and the Colts. I hope the Colts kick their butts all the way back to Boston . . . by way of LA! I cannot stand the Patriots!!

The first Steelers and Bengals game bugged me because the best team did not win it. The best team won yesterday though.

Congratulations to Cincinnati.

To poetessfree's comment about Indy needing to look for a Bob Sanders replacement, I'm starting to feel the same way about Troy Polamalu given his sudden propensity for injuries. Tomlin needs to say something like, "Troy, more time pumping iron, less time doing Head and Shoulders commercials".

WHAT was Behlichick thinking at the end of last night's game??? Shades of a certain boneheaded call in 1995 by Barry Switzer, anyone?

First off, congrats to Duane's Bengals for getting another win against the Steelers. They are the best team in the division right now. I am happy for the long suffering Cincinati fans. The season isn't over yet and the Steelers tend to gather momentum as the season progresses - at least that is what I am hoping for!

I made the mistake of turning off the Colts game after the third quarter! I was happy to see the Pats go down! It made me as happy to see the Colts win as it would have been my Steelers. The Cowboys losing to GB was just as sweet! 2 out of 3 wasn't bad!

How did the Browns get scheduled for Monday Night Football??? I can guarantee someone at ESPN was wishing for the flex-scheduling option last night even before the 16-0 loss to Baltimore.

In that case, Goodell should ban anyone who appears in them, from ever coaching again-yes, they're that bad. But, Coors is the offical beer of the NFL so apparently, he has already given his blessing.

Only two reasons why I'm surprised by this move:

1. In that it wasn't made earlier (usually don't see teams change coaches after the halfway point of the season)

2. In that it wasn't Eric Mangini

I know the ex-coaches have to give their blessings to allow Coors to use their images in the ads but has anyon ever told any of them that they sometimes make them look really stupid (The Romeo Crennel commercials come to mind.)

BTW, did anyone but a Browns or Ravens fans watch MNF?

I don't think any Browns fans bothered watching it and I live in their home blackout area.

LOL! I'm cringing this weekend because my wife has Kevin Smith. I'll probably go to a wing place and watch the Steeler game there.

At least we get to watch Michigan get dismantled on Saturday. Every third Saturday of November all I think back to Tim Biakabutuka and that game in '96 or so and it always makes me enjoy the Wolverines getting annihilated.

Just curious: I realize that he dosen't have a very good supporting cast(in spite of his mouth, I believe they should have kept Winslow), but the MNF crew was still gushing over Brady Quinn: I just don't see it. I know Eli, Elway, and even Peyton, struggled early on... but like this??? I don't see much arm strength when he throws- but waaay too much when Anderson does.

The question of his arm strength and the awkward way he uses his body to just heave or force the ball downfield wasn't pointed out to me until the last week by a Browns fan. That's an honest concern since you must be able to throw downfield in the NFL especially with the rules being so much in favor of it.

I believe the stupidest thing that has happened to Quinn so far he brought on himself with the holdout. There's no reason had he reported to his first camp on time that he wouldn't have beat out both Frye and Anderson. The next stupid thing was signing Anderson to the extension. They needed to do like Cortez and burn their ships or like the Chargers who jettisoned Brees and build everything around him. I mentioned that again this week and it was yet another fan who mentioned his arm strength. If nothing else had Crennel and Savage did what I just said we would know 100% for sure on Quinn. I say he hasn't had enough time, but the people who bleed orange say his arm isn't that good. There's no reason that Browns coaches and management can't take the time to develop players like we do in Pittsburgh or in Baltimore when Lerner is patient and patient to the point he is hurting his franchise.

Winslow was an interesting scenario. I believe he had to do with Mangini wanting to go with more of a 6 offensive lineman type offense as opposed to 5. That makes sense to me because in Pittsburgh we prefer in our offense Heath Miller to a Dallas Clark type. While I believe Mangini had the right idea on what the Browns needed, he was clearly the wrong guy to go about it. : /

That's the same thing I was thinking. Trade Anderson, while his stock was high(too late now), and bring on a grizzled veteran who was willing to be a backup/mentor.

Palamalu is out for another 1-2 weeks. At least, we face the Chiefs. Still smarting from last week's loss. I haven't been able to sit down all week.

The best game of the week is looking to be the Colts-Ravens game. NO should easily handle TB; so there should be at least one undefeated team after Sunday.
