((dubc419)) I am so sorry for you. Let us know if there are more specifics we can pray for you. Heavenly Father, Be with this family...the sudden nature of things like this can be so devastating and we feel like it's all a dream. Please be present, carrying them through each next minute, holding their hands and comforting their hearts. Be Lord over their grief, comforting them in every way that is best, as You have created them, and raise up friends and family who will be a source of comfort and compassion for the long haul to come. Inspire those who love them as to what to pray, what to say and when to be present and when to help. Allow the family to experience Your close presence in a way that leaves no doubt You are with them in every moment, please. In Jesus Name, Amen

Hey guys, thanks again for your prayers. We had the memorial this morning. It was a really nice service. A lot of the boys my dad had mentored in the church youth group shared some of their thoughts about him, and a ton of people were there, so it was nice to know my dad affected so many people. I think that right now we just all need some rest. My sister had to go back to college, so pray that she's able to make it through school okay. I'm living at home with my mom, so hopefully we'll be alright together. I'm also a little worried about money. My dad made all the money and my mom didn't work, so I'm not sure how that's going to go. I know our family won't let us starve, but I'm still a little worried about that stuff. God, thanks for the life of my dad.

I think that right now we just all need some rest. My sister had to go back to college, so pray that she's able to make it through school okay. I'm living at home with my mom, so hopefully we'll be alright together. Father I pray dubc's sister will be able to continue on with her education. Give her the strength she needs to get through the day and all the days to come. I'm also a little worried about money. My dad made all the money and my mom didn't work, so I'm not sure how that's going to go. I know our family won't let us starve, but I'm still a little worried about that stuff. Father take the worry from this family. Help this mother not be in fear of finances on top of losing her husband. Please provide all their needs. God, thanks for the life of my dad. Yes Father thank you so for the life of this man who helped so many others come to know and leaves behind children who will follow in his footsteps. Praise you Father that this man is right now rejoicing with you.

Thanks again for all your prayers. Just an update...my dad's business stuff is still really complicated, and it's really stressing my mom out trying to figure it out. None of us are eating or sleeping very well, and I've lost about 5 pounds in less than a week, so I'm a bit worried about that. And just for me, I'm starting to go a little nuts. My dad was my hero and my anchor in my life, so it's starting to hit me that he's not here anymore and I just don't know how to handle being a girl without her dad at 23. It's really knocking me off balance. And just on top of that one of my friends is being extremely insensitive through all this, and it's really hard on me. God, please bring comfort to me and my family. Thank you for our support system of friends and family who care.

ORIGINAL: HannahElizabeth I just wanted to let you know that I prayed for you and your family. I hope that it gives you some measure of comfort during this painful time to know that your brothers and sisters in Christ are with you in spirit. I hope that doesn't sound like a Hallmark card. I really mean it. I lost my mom to cancer, and you go through so many cycles of emotion and grief. I pray that at each one you feel God's presence, that you know He's right there, that He hasn't left you, and neither has he abandoned your dad. Keep coming here to drink from the Lord's water. You are cared for here. Amen. ...wow... There is a lot of delicious Spiritual food that is available here in this thread.

Hey guys, just a little update. I've talked to my sister and she's doing pretty badly. She's very stressed trying to get through school and is just now crying all the time. My Mom is still taking care of all of Dad's business stuff, and it's getting worked out. There are a lot of people to help her. I'm really worried that she's stuffing all of her feelings, though. I haven't seen her upset in nearly 4 weeks. I may be doing the same thing as my mom. I've had one major breakdown, and my friend was there to help me through it. But otherwise I've been going to work, which is fine. I had to have emergency wisdom teeth surgery the other day because they started hurting so badly, so I'm recovering from that. And I keep remembering my dad, but I haven't really cried or gotten upset or angry about it, and so I'm not quite sure if I'm actually "dealing with it" in that sense. I don't know. I would appreciate your continued prayers for my family and I. Knowing y'all are praying has really helped keep me strong.

I believe you are dealing with this the best way you know how. And, perhaps you are not cryng or feeling angry is because you have family here that are lifting you up in prayer. I continue in prayer for you and your mom and the rest of your family. May you continue to be surrounded in God's love and peace. Thank You, Lord for all that You are doing. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen

Dear Poster, Different people deal with things differently. When my dad died, my mother and sisters openly grieved, but it seemed very unreal to me (I was there when it happened). I wondered too if I was really dealing with it, but God knows what we need and when we need it, he protects even in those ways. As time went on, the sadness came out with memories and as I realized he wasn't there at times when he would have been. One night, I dreamed about him. I was so happy to see him again, and I got to do what I never did, tell him goodbye (we had just stepped out of his room when he died) and how much I loved him and missed him. That dream was so real to me, that I felt like I finally got to do just that, I believe God gave me that and since that time, I have found healing. Dear Heavenly Father, Sometimes it's those who do not seem to be openly grieving that need your love and your touch so much. Please comfort this poster as only you can and be there for her and her family during this time. In the name of Jesus, I pray, amen.

Hey guys. I just like to write here every once in a while in a place I know people will pray for me. I'm completely stressed out. I'm tired. I'm not sleeping well. I'm having terrible dreams when I do sleep. All I do is work and come home and sit because just going to work exhausts me. Then when I come home I feel like I can't be upset in front of my mom because then she'll get upset. So I have to wait until she goes to bed to be upset, but then it's late and I have to get up for work the next day, so I don't feel like I have time to be upset because I need to sleep. My friends care, but they have lives and don't call everyday. So if I'm having a hard day I have to pick a friend to call and hope that they pick up the phone. And sometimes I go down the list and no one picks up at all. So then I just feel like I'm by myself all over again, in addition to losing my dad. Anyway, that's how it's going right now. Thank y'all.

Oh Sweetie, My heart hurts for you. I'm so well versed in the area of the pain from loosing someone you love and have spent 3 years in grief counseling since my son died. All that to say that it might be a good thing for you to 'get upset' in front of your mom, and not worry about her getting upset too. Crying is such a major form of release and it could be really beneficial to share this with your mom. She's probably doing the exact same thing and trying not to let you see her upset either. My Holy Lord, Wrap your arms of comfort around this family. You feel pain with them and we thank You for that. Please hold them close and help them through their grieving. In Jesus' name, Amen

Lord, Please help this poster be able to grieve and find healing. Give her strength for each day and send her Lord someone she can talk to who will love her through this. In Jesus name, I pray, amen.

We will keep you and your family in prayer as this is quite a difficult thing to have to go through.

dear one, suppressing your emotions for fear you will upset your mom is not good for you. She's hurting because she has lost the love of her life. You are hurting because you lost your daddy. Lean on one another. It might help you both feel a little better. Father, it is so hard to say goodbye to those we love. It is even more difficult when death comes so suddenly. Please help this family in their grief. I pray they not only lean on one another but lean on You. Help them to deal with this in a way that is healthy. Right now their hearts are broken. Mend their hearts and remind them that You are with them every single step of the way. Be their refuge and strengthen them to get through this very difficult time. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
