Another thought I had was something that I need to do more of -- what if couples completed with each other to see who could love the other one more? Rather than when one does something that is upsetting and getting revenge, instead turn it to doing something sweet, unexpected, nice, thoughtful -- as often as reasonably possible -- competing to love the other one more. I think more marriages would be better off if we did that.
I think that would be a selfless thing to do.

Marry someone that you don't deserve and then spend the rest of your marriage trying to be worthy of the privilege of being their spouse.
